ABOUT

Dr. Sir:

I left you for the purpose of procurring & examining my own papers relative to the late Duel (unfortunate affair) & was sorry to find on my return that you had left Dr. Hosack’s. The statement which you hastily read to me contained things that rendered it desirable for me to recur to my own notes. As I presume no publication will take place in the morning papers, I will have the honor of seeing you again on my return to the City, which will be about nine o’clock in the morning.

W.P. Van Ness.

N. Pendleton, Esqr.
