14. Letter by Aaron Burr to William P. Van Ness

ABOUT

It is proper that you be informed that I have an engagement with Miss C. at half past eight on Monday morning.

From five to seven or half past seven of that day and at all other hours, I am at your command. I would even forego my engagement with C. rather than postpone twenty four hours.

Did you send out and what answer? Am I to see you this evening? Or why not? You are more faithless than than the most arrant coquet I have ever known. A perfect jilt. I pray you to reform lest we have another job on hand.

A. Burr.
